Median hourly earnings of dental assistants were $14.53 in May 2006.
The middle 50 percent earned between $11.94 and $17.44 an hour. The
lowest 10 percent earned less than $9.87, and the highest 10 percent
earned more than $20.69 an hour.
Benefits vary substantially by practice setting and may be contingent
upon full-time employment. According to the American Dental
Association, 87 percent of dentists offer reimbursement for continuing
